The Blue Bolt Caridina is a stunning freshwater shrimp known for its deep blue to icy sky-blue coloration. A true centrepiece for any shrimp tank, these shrimp are popular among keepers and breeders for their beauty and genetic potential. Their striking colour intensifies with age and proper care, making them a rewarding choice for both beginners (with experience in shrimp care) and advanced hobbyists.

• Tank Size: Minimum 20L, preferably larger 

Feeding:

Blue Bolts thrive on a balanced diet of high-quality shrimp foods, blanched vegetables, biofilm, and supplemental proteins. Feed sparingly—only what they can consume in a few hours—and remove any uneaten food to avoid water quality issues.

Breeding:

Blue Bolt Caridina can be bred in stable, soft-water setups. They produce small shrimplets that require pristine water conditions and biofilm-rich environments to survive. Maintaining consistent parameters is key to successful breeding.

Additional Notes:

These shrimp are best kept in species-only aquariums or with other Caridina varieties that share similar water requirements. Avoid housing them with aggressive fish or species that thrive in harder water.
