The Siamese Algae Eater is one of the most effective and natural algae-eating fish available to freshwater aquarists. Highly valued for its appetite for problem algae, including hair and brush algae, this active species is an excellent addition to planted and community aquariums where algae control is needed.
With its sleek body, bold horizontal stripe, and constant movement, the Siamese Algae Eater brings both function and activity to larger freshwater setups.
Behaviour & Compatibility:
Siamese Algae Eaters are generally peaceful when young and do best in groups of three or more. They are active swimmers that prefer plenty of space and flow. Best kept with medium to large peaceful community fish, they are not suitable for very small or slow-moving tank mates.
